A free initial site visit and client meeting will take place.
During the first visit, we will explain our garden design process in more detail and fill in a short questionnaire with you.
This consultation will help us to understand your ambitions for your new garden and what you would like to achieve with it alongside any styling, planting, or material preferences.
It's also completely fine to not be set on any ideas or aims at this stage, we will be able to guide you and make appropriate recommendations.
We will put together a proposal which will include our design fee and estimated schedule for our work.
If you wish to proceed, we will return for a second site visit to carry out a site assessment.
We will measure your garden in detail, enabling us to make all of the drawings and technical plans of your new garden to scale.
We will look at any existing features in the garden that could be enhanced, or problems that can be resolved through the new design.
We will also look at the soil condition and any existing planting or features that may be kept or removed.
Large gardens, or those with complex level changes may require a topographical survey which we can arrange, if required.
We will produce an initial "bubble plan", supporting sketches, and mood boards which will be used for us to agree on the layout of your new garden design.
This is a very collaborative stage, we will take on your feedback and move the design from the "initial" drawings, to the "developed" drawings.
We are client-led and will take time to understand your aims and make appropriate recommendations.
Once we've agreed on the layout and features we move from "top down" imagery to detailed 3D visuals from different angles.
This stage of the process will help you visualise how your new outdoor space could look from different angles (including inside your property).
Hard landscaping provides the bones of any garden design but plants bring it to life.
We will create a detailed planting plan to show the exact location of each plant, along with details on all of our choices. We focus on creating year round interest and follow the principle of "right plant, right place".
We have established relationships with a handful of nuseries and can source all of the plants. Our in-house soft landscaping team will check the stock and carefully execute the planting, as per our plan.
We will provide advice and a printed guide on caring for plants if they're sourced through us, which can be useful for looking after your garden throughout the seasons or handing to a gardener.
A detailed master plan will be produced covering setting out plans, levels and construction information (including material choices and lighting plans).
This will be sent to you as a link (along with all other design documents) that can be shared with contractors, so that they can quote for any hard landscaping work.
You're welcome to appoint your own contractor or we can provide contact details for those that have built gardens for our previous clients.
We're on hand to help with this stage and meet with your contractor to discuss all the details.
Your contractor carries out the hard landscaping work.
When the build is complete, we can source the plants and plant them for you.
We will provide you with the care guide for the plants and have a final visit once everything has settled in.
We also have an optional aftercare service to support you whilst your garden matures.
We also offer one-to-one advice sessions, either in-person or online (depending on your location).
Our Garden Design Advice services are "by the hour" and perfect for helping you to see what your garden could become.
This suits clients that are looking for advice and inspiration from a garden designer, but don't require full design, drawings, or documents at this stage.
You can book an online consultation with Emily to discuss garden layout, materials, planting and styling.
We also offer a Gold package which includes a jargon-free written-report and visual moodboard.
Should you go on to use our full garden design service within 12 months, we will deduct the cost of a one-hour advice session from our quote.
